North Shore Medical Center FMC Campus offers a variety of outpatient services that include conventional and high-technological treatments and diagnostic tools, support services and integrated medicine choices.

Minimally invasive surgery (sometimes called laparoscopic surgery) is done through small incisions. Using specialized techniques, miniature cameras with microscopes, tiny fiberoptic flashlights and high definition monitors, FMC Campus surgeons can perform surgery through incisions that requires only a stitch or two to close.

For patients, minimally invasive surgery means less trauma to the body, less blood loss, smaller surgical scars and less need for pain medication. Patients may return home more quickly and resume normal activities sooner than with conventional open surgery.

Many ervices offered at our Outpatient Pavilion are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, most private insurances and many HMOs. Private paying patients are also welcome.  The hospital’s registration staff will be glad to help you determine the coverage provided by your insurance.
