An American Society of Bariatric Surgery (ASBS) Center of Excellence

Clinical evidence shows that the most experienced, best-run bariatrics programs have the lowest rates of complications. 

To recognize these programs and to improve bariatric quality and safety, ASBS created the Centers of Excellence Program.  FMC, which earned this designation in 2006, underwent a series of site visits where inspectors closely examined all aspects of surgical processes and data on health outcomes of patients.
